Bertin Nahum - Medtech
Bertin Nahum, CEO of Medtech Surgical, which he founded in 2002.shares his company’s activity and story as a specialist in designing, manufacturing and marketing surgery assistance robotic devices and systems for the cranial and spinal neurosurgery.
With the development of this latest generation of "robotic surgical assistance", Medtech is working tards three key goals:
- To increase patient safety and comfort
- To enhance and improve reliability during surgery
- To contribute to increased hospital performance.
Bertin Nahum also explains the reasons for Medtech Surgical’s IPO on Euronext in 2013, which enabled a strong acceleration in the company’s growth, its workforce having tripled and its turnover increased six times.
Finally, Bertin shares his personal background as a robotics engineer, who, by chance, discovered how this technology could be used in the service of health. His finals exam project led him to work in collaboration with a hospital in Lyon, where he had a revelation: he wanted to put his engineering skills in order to care for patients. He then started working in the field of surgery assisting technologies and, after several years, founded his own company Medtech.
Bertin emphasizes that trust has always been key in Medtech’s story, as it is the driving force for the firm’s success, from Anvar (National Agency for the Promotion of Research and forerunner of Bpifrance) to Medtech's IPO, where the rate of subscription from individual investors was particularly high.
