EnterNext and the Tech Sector
EnterNext is the subsidiary of Euronext dedicated to financing and promoting Small and Mid Caps (SMEs) on the financial markets. It comprises of the 741 listed SMEs on Euronext markets in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Portugal, representing a total market capitalisation of over €145 billion. Our goal: to work hand in hand with entrepreneurs and executives of SMEs, as well as with the financial community and investors, and reinforce ties between them.
EnterNext is well aware of the growth potential, financing requirements and sector-specific needs of Technology companies and is ramping up its support for these innovative businesses.
Since January 2015, 49 Small and Mid cap Tech companies have listed on our markets raising €1.7 billion as well as €2.7 billion in secondary offerings.
In order to meet the needs of this growing sector, EnterNext has launched a range of initiatives to assist Tech companies and raise their profile with investors:
All data as of 31/03/2017
The initiative focuses on the 330 Small and Mid Cap Tech shares listed on Euronext’s four European markets - Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris. Today, over 40% of these shares have no analysts following them. This initiative thus aims to raise the sector's visibility on a pan-European scale and broaden the pool of potential investors. The programme also includes quarterly sector reviews and research reports by Morningstar.
Tech 40 Label
On 27 April 2015, EnterNext, announced the launch of the Tech 40, a label recognising innovative European SMEs listed on the markets covered by EnterNext (Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon, Paris). The Tech 40 companies are entitled to a range of premium services to boost their visibility among investors, including being part of a dedicated index, investor roadshows and access to an exclusive club.
TechShare is a unique pan-European programme created by EnterNext to familiarise innovative businesses with capital markets and give them the information they need to reach the next stage of their growth and take their companies to market. TechShare helps leaders of tech companies better understand the role of financial markets and how they work. Entrepreneurs will therefore be better able to judge the opportunity of listing in tandem with their specific business projects, and to prepare them in good time.
The 30 candidates will be offered tailor-made training over a 12-month period based on three components:
- two on-site academic sessions organised in conjunction with the European Business School HEC Paris and the Engineering School Ecole Polytechnique (France);
- technical workshops organised year-round with industry experts;
- individual coaching sessions with auditors, lawyers and communications advisers.
Selected for their innovative flair and impressive performance, participants are businesses active in digital technology, life sciences and eco-industries that might consider listing in the next three years.
In order to offer Tech SMEs the help they need to finance their growth, EnterNext has launched a series of EnterNext Tech Conferences. The first edition took place in Paris on 17 November 2014, and has been rolled out in other French regions as well as other EnterNext countries (Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal). The aim of these conferences is to unite all players of the Tech scene and tackle key subjects about the financing of Tech companies, explaining what the financial ecosystem needs to do to boost their growth and increase their visibility.
